I like the idea of Scaled sort so I tried it out but there is a lot of posts from communities like this [email protected] or [email protected]
Furry Swimming is definitely NSFW, it would not be okay to have that open at work, but others are in a gray-zone.
It’s a pain to block all of them as they come up and not great UX for new users that don’t want to this in their feed.
Not sure what the solution is, just thought I’d bring it up.

I guess having NSFW as a binary yes or no thing is not realistic. There is plenty of stuff which is in-between that might be ok in some cultures at some workplaces. PieFed could provide a way to flag content as gray-zone but pawb.social and ani.social are Lemmy so…
If I was scrolling ANY social media, regardless of content, and my boss walked past I’d regret not closing the tab… It’s clearly not work-related, even if it’s sober content. So drawing the line there doesn’t seem helpful because it would encompass too much. Personally I think of “NSFW” as “Porn”, not “would I feel guilty if my boss looked over my shoulder while it scrolled past”.
Fair enough, what people’s definition of NSFW is differs.
I think for many including me it’s anything you wouldn’t want people on the train to see you scrolling, or maybe your family. I can scroll my normal PieFed feed just fine on the train or around family for the most part.
But definitely wouldn’t want [email protected] or gore mixed in there.
yeah I turned off not safe for work in my settings because my threshold for nsfw is like hardcore not just a swimsuit.
