I was planning to wait and see what Boost has to offer before deciding if I should pay $20 to remove ads on Sync, but seeing this has convinced me to delete the app for good. Even Reddit isn’t half as bad as Sync when it comes to trackers and shady ads.
20 bucks to remove ads…for an android app. That’s a bit extreme. I never seen an android app asks that much to remove ads lol. Heck the old sync for reddit was way cheaper.
Could have sworn I’ve seen $29.99 before, but so far only found Slay The Spire at $9.99. GTA San Andreas is $6.99 though, so that’s a pretty good deal.
Those are games though. Not 3rd party clients.
Old Sync also had a much larger userbase. Lemmy really doesn’t have enough users for the development to be worth it, unless he charges this much or shows ads.
