I was planning to wait and see what Boost has to offer before deciding if I should pay $20 to remove ads on Sync, but seeing this has convinced me to delete the app for good. Even Reddit isn’t half as bad as Sync when it comes to trackers and shady ads.

I’m sure you can afford all your bills by giving away your work for free.

I think this is a strawman.

People who don’t like Sync for its approach to monetization are not exclusively advocating for using the app for free. There are more options than “the way it is currently” and “free.”

Think so? I think any ad supported app is going to have very similar results.

Or as others have pointed out OP’s pic is probably not the full story.

          The way it is currently:

          • You use the app for free, and the creator turns on ads to make money from his work. Ads always have trackers, that’s just how they work.

          • You pay $20 and never see ads again

          • You pay $15 a month or $100 a year to remove ads and get extra advanced features most users will never need.

What more options do you want to pay someone for a full time app development job?
