Looks great! Needs some chives though.
Yet another refugee who washed up on the shore after the great Reddit disaster of 2023
Looks great! Needs some chives though.
Looks great, how were they?
And I said it was nice looking food. Thought you might be interested about the use of the word. Was anything that I said argumentative? Feel free to ignore.
Yours has the same definition as mine, and even links to the same page, but then says:
However, according to food historian Sarah Wassberg Johnson, charcuterie also has its roots in the simple meals that had been eaten by laborers of the working class throughout Europe since the medieval period, often consisting of meats, cheeses, bread, local produce, and wine or beer.
That’s one I’ve never seen, and the citation is the opinion of a single person without reference. If you Google the definition, you’re going to mostly find that it’s prepared meats, with some places saying the definition has evolved to include other stuff.
Looks great!
Just FYI, this really isn’t charcuterie though. Charcuterie is specifically about prepared meats. You can have other stuff on a charcuterie board, but normally just some things to compliment the meats.
On the other hand, so many people have been misusing the word for a while now that the definition is starting to accommodate arrangements like yours.
Yummy regardless of what it’s called.
Looks perfect. Those are hard to get right.
It’s really hard to grate fresh mozzarella. It’s very soft and moist. The circles are because it comes in a sort of cylindrical shape and people just slice off thin pieces.
Some people have given you guys a lot of flack, but I really think you’re making a thoughtful, good faith effort to do things right, and I think you’re doing well. There have been a couple things that I thought were the wrong decision, but (1) they’ve been relatively minor, and (2) they’ve been reasonable even if I might have chosen differently. I very much appreciate the thought that goes into running this place.
That was my takeaway, too, and I think it’s positive. The nice thing is, if it turns out that the policy fosters behavior that’s bad for the broader community, they can change it.
What I’m seeing supports what OP said.
As I write this, there are 8 comments in this thread, and one of the earliest is the recipe, which is indeed posted by OP. You could have read every comment twice in half the time it took you to write the snarky reply.
I honestly didn’t get the joke and was trying to figure out what was wrong with the. Like, maybe if it was instead of raises or something I’d be pissed, but otherwise looks great.
