I’m a Canadian, so the only hate speech laws that I care about are the ones for my country.
No I do not think intentional misgendering should be considered hate speech (in the legal sense)
I would absolutely fire an employee of mine for doing it though, even if I found out they did it outside of a work context.
Just because something isn’t illegal doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be consequences for it.

B) If you do it intentionally, knowing that they don’t want it, you’re a bad person. It’s not hate speech though based on the legal description in Canada. Just like I can call you a thin-skinned small-dicked asshole and it’s not hate speech.
Start your own community to replace the one you don’t like the mods of, keep the content fresh to attract people to yours instead.

Anyone can register a domain anywhere as long as the country allows it. Lemmy is not from Mali in this case.
All two letter domains are for countries.
Even .tv which is Tuvalu
I’ve sent a whole bunch of people to Lemmy.ca from local contacts. There’s enough hockey content that it works for anyone I know here.
That functionality doesn’t currently exist, but migration of communities is something that’s being actively talked about for development.
If it’s just a temporary outage, whatever the mirror has received prior to the outage will be shown to users on that other instance but only local interactions for that instance will update it, when it comes back up, things like votes and comments will be synchronized again across all of the instances.
For permanent outages, the community will just need to be started again on a new instance.
Which people will ignore once they figure out that any post tagged NSFW will not show up because even paid API access will not allow you to see them.
Until you create some communities, nobody can post unless they sign up on your server. Since most of us are already signed up elsewhere, that doesn’t make much sense.
