I’ve been off Facebook since precovid, deactive so I can use messenger still.

I logged in for a specific reason yesterday and it was like one thing/person I follow or otherwise indicated interest in to 10+ “sponsored content” or “stuff you may like” or whatever they call it now.

But people treat it as a red flag because I’m not wasting my day away on that. Fucking what?

I made my first ever Twitter account a month or two before Musk bought it, for purely NSFW reasons. I’d log in every couple weeks or whatever, handle my business, and move along. After he bought it, I said whatever I’m not doing anything useful data wise so I’ll continue my few times a month visits.

First post-Musk visit, it’s fine. Business handled, close my incog window, move on.

Second post-Musk visit, I log in, and it’s CP as far as the eye can see. I immediately deleted my account.

I never understood why people were so into Twitter, from my perspective it’s like a new media version of press releases - big name people harp about whatever they harp about and I read about it elsewhere if it’s relevant to me.
