That was an incredible diagram of what the text looks like for you.
I had this error pop up this morning too but am still able to see posts from beehaw.
Hell yes! This has been a big sticking point for me since they started being removed around 2016. I hung on to my Note 4 until it was tired around 2019/2020, bought an LG V20 as it was the most recent ‘flagship’ still using a removable battery, then I finally crossed over to the darkside with the S21 Ultra.
Hopefully options will open up over the next few years as even if you don’t want a removable battery, your preference shouldn’t dictate the entire market. The smart phone market is way too homogeneous where every phone is essentially the same in a mildly different brick shape with a different logo.
Followed by “Google shuttering Android development as it sells stake off to Apple Inc”
This is actually against their TOS so if this happened they could just seize the subs as “abandoned” or “unmoderated”. I agree it would be effective but it would also give reddit an easier out when dealing with the situation.
Reddit doesn’t have any shares or shareholders currently.
Funny. When my 10 year old account gets banned by some 6 month old power tripping mod account I’m told “moderators get to decide who can participate in their communities” and given zero recourse.
Now when mods go on strike, they’re told it’s undemocratic and that mods shouldn’t get to decide who participates in their communities just because they moderate those communities.
Fuck this weasel.
I recently flashed LineageOS on my old Note 4 that had previously ran a few custom ROMs but other than that haven’t used one in years since I haven’t had a need with my last LG or current Samsung phone.
These days there’s more of a need for custom hardware like a headphone jack or SD card slot but unfortunately those can’t just be flashed to a phone like a ROM can. The software/firmware side of things has been fine for me.
But what are you going to do about it, go pick up food yourself like some plebeian?
We should all be thankful that our Uber Eats Chipotle burrito only costs $57. These ads should help maintain these ultra low food prices.
Just tried this game and my first word was “prweb”. I’m not convinced this isn’t coded to just give out a random combination of letters.
Call me a cynic but I’d be afraid any rebooted favorite game of mine would be little more than a nostalgia cash grab in the current gaming economy and probably sour my memory of the original.
Or what if they combine into (Google+Twitter)•Reddit
“UBlock PiHole” is a great name for a team-up too.
Probably not ideal, but what about screen mirroring from your phone using a browser with adblock enabled?
Who would they even find to moderate subs with substandard tools free of charge? Especially right on the heels of this fiasco. Maybe they’ll put some bots in charge and just allow pretty much unfiltered moderation in those subreddits.
This reminds me of the recent Behind the Bastards episodes where Robert reads the court filings of fired Twitter employees who continuously refer to themselves as Tweeps. At Mastadon they’d probably call themselves Tooters.
It’s funny because this is a huge issue with Pinterest and googling images, so many people automatically add -pinterest to their search terms so it’s completely blocked from the search results. Wonder if someday that’ll be reddit too.
Spez must have seen that “reverse funnel” episode of IASIP and thought it was an idea worth stealing. “We’ll just funnel everyone into our broken app and then endless profit!”
I agree it’s great but I would love if it were moved to a separate button along with a button at the top of a post to collapse all comments so you can skim through top-level comments more easily.
One issue I keep encountering with this click to hide implementation is that users post a thumbnail sized image and when I try to click on it to see full size, wind up just hiding the comment.
