Upload from URL is pointless since you can just markdown that URL directly.
Fediverse is worse than Reddit. Mod abuse, admin abuse, disinformation, and people simping for literal terrorists.

Speaking of which… When can we finally ctrl+v paste them in from our clipboard? :(
I guess you guys who care about it could drop a feature request on Github for that.
Just say mbin. Kbin is dead for like half a year now and *bin is just terribly hard to read.
Can’t you just leave the magazine field empty? I don’t really make microblog posts so I honestly don’t know but likewise you’re not required to add hashtags to threads either so I would assume you don’t have to specify a magazine for a post either.
app - abbreviation for application: a computer program that is designed for a particular purpose

application - a program (such as a word processor or a spreadsheet) that performs a particular task or set of tasks

app - An app is a computer program that is written and designed for a specific purpose.

etc. etc.
It is… App = Application = Program, especially for mobile devices.
I was referring to Bridgy, not Bluesky, regarding privacy. It acts like a middleman between whatever you’re using and Bluesky. And it isn’t really opt-in in that sense, because the majority of users would not even be aware of this even existing. An opt-in feature would be directly implemented into a platform, like a toggle you could switch within your account settings. Whether that is opt-in or opt-out is personal preference I guess, but with that logic it should be ideally the same for all native instances as well.
To bridge your fediverse account into Bluesky and interact with people there, search for and follow @[email protected]. That account will then follow you back. Accept its follow to make sure your fediverse posts get sent the bridge and make it into Bluesky.

I mean, I guess, but that’s pretty convoluted and opt-in, not so much a direct compatible connection from Bluesky to the Fediverse. And you’d have to trust them regarding privacy.
They’re going to federate with ActivityPub?
Even outside of the Tankie instances the Fediverse is filled to the brim with literal terrorist simps, both within the general user base as well as the various community mods. You literally get comments removed or even banned for having nuanced middle ground positions that aren’t propaganda for one side.
It’s like 70k users.
That depends very heavily on your jurisdiction.
I was replying to the top comment and adding mbin links for the sake of ease for other users potentially interested in it. I don’t know why you expect me to say anything about kbin or ernest, especially when everything about the matter has already been said.
They do bad faith trolling though.
I’m no coder.
I’ll stick with mbin.
Fewer barriers to entry? A forum is just a simple registration, usually with email confirmation and maybe a captcha once. Facebook wants real life personal information, blocks VPNs and nowadays I think you have to even provide phone numbers or a custom video of yourself. Discord, ON EVERY LOGIN, wants me to solve a 2 level captcha that loves to repeat itself multiple times and to do a two factor authentication while being just a bloated confusing mess of a chat. Reddit also now blocks VPNs like crazy and loves to shadowban you if you’re inactive for a while (or whatever random reason they went with that I cannot think of).
They’re the absolute worst possible choices and exclude countless of people.
Definitely not for me. The UI looks worse than Lemmy, which I already can’t get behind.
Even then pasting would also solve that issue since you can copy images from websites.
