It is very interesting, I’m south american in my country in particular, everyone uses 3rd party as well, mostly WhatsApp and Telegram (although they are on the rocks legally right now), no one really natively texts anymore. That’s for company automated texts, like Google verification codes and spam.

I love tumblr for lurking, but never really found my footing there for interacting myself, the whole thing of tumblr (and twitter in a way) of having a page and followers and all that always felt a bit intimidating, i guess? I think that’s what i like the ost of forums like these or reddit. Just coming up and answering a post on a forum like this feels natural and on tumblr felt so out of pocket for me.

I’m sure that a me problem and i’ll figure out , and it’ll probably be one those “oh, that looked much harder before” once i do figure it out, i’ll just start by talking to myself and see who i find.

Yeah, the problem is my phone has that predictive/sugestion bar at the bottom when you open the search bar and more often than not boost is there and my brain goes “oooh, click it!” and im very bad at deleting apps, my way around hoarding apps was restricting the apps i install in the first place. But i opened Jerboa enough last night that its showing is right beside it and I’m keeping Lemmy logged in on the browser.

Yeah, once Boost is gone for good I won’t have any way to go back even if I wanted to. I’ll just have to find my pretty pictures somewhere else, l’ll suck it up and fix my tumblr accounts, make them look like a real human owns them instead of a bot so people won’t block me :p

I’ll eventually go poking around kbin too and maybe finally actually use the mastodon accounts I made.

I just checked reddark over 8400 subreddits are down, pretty much all of the big ones are closed down, that’s crazy! I only had one reddit brain fart today and caught myself before, so I have no idea how things are there, but I do miss all the nature, castles and sculptures pictures from the stuff I followed.

That was happening? Well it explains a lot of recent reddit then, it really felt people had really weird reading comprehension.

I already found my way, commented and subscribed to other instances from beehaw and I wasn’t even aware I did it at first, tbh. I don’t know if they all connverse seamlessly like that, but hopefully we will be able to keep it nice and civil.

Same, I just kept instinctively looking for Boost throughout the day to scroll and then catching myself amd going “godamn it, you made accounts in other places a week ago for this! Just go there!”

I got better at it by the end of the day, by tomorrow hopefully I’ll hop here or tildes first instead of mindlessly trying to open reddit first.

Yeah, having to actually choose a place to go was the main impediment for meto create a mastodon account in the first place. I kept stalling and putting it off, once I did it iwas easy enough. I think a lot of people don’t realise at first you can make other fedaration accounts with the same email and how easy it is.

Except I’m I was not a big twitter user in the first place, so I probably should have started with one of the niche feds first, like star trek or the art one, those would prompt me to interact more.
