Looks tasty, but if I received that at even a fast casual restaurant, I’d never go back. If I made it for myself at midnight and it tasted good, I’d be real happy. But a packaged sausage on a piece of supermarket sliced bread isn’t something I’d pay for at a restaurant. I think it’s the relatively clean white plate and symmetry that’s giving your friend restaurant vibes, but he should also maybe go to better restaurants.

I’d recognize it anywhere, that’s The Lou from Lou Malnatis! Though it looks like one of the frozen ones they ship on dry ice.
