How about a second vote system for agree/disagree, because I agree with you in principle and try to use it this way, but in practice the votes are definitely used for that. Now that I write it out though I realize people will just double smash both buttons when they disagree anyway.

If I ever go vegetarian I’d definitely just enjoy stuff like falafels, curries, halloumi and the million other options and not worry about reproducing meat.

This is fine, decentralisation is what this is made for, so if you want a vanilla experience with only clean sfw content, you can register to instances A B or C, if you fancy some more open internet, then instances X Y or Z might be more for you.
