Wrong. They federated with them then had a big discussion on if they should defederate (you can probably still find it in meta). It’s why I left - I prefer to make my own defederation decisions (and I like Hexbear, and Piracy too).

The community I contribute to the most is the only one. The other same-name communities are dead (or only a couple old posts) and I posted a link to the one I use in the posts. Also, I browse on mobile most of the time, so I don’t see sidebars.

I guess I’m betting they don’t go down at once. I guess it can happen tho.
That’s why I joined my local “area of my country” instance. I just need to subscribe to all my communities here and I’ll be good. The app I use (Memmy) let’s you easily switch between profiles on any instance too.
