How much did a computer cost back then? How much were the first graphics cards? How compatible were computers with each other? How much did one album cost on CD? How easy was it to obtain information on a problem? How easy was it to price compare things between stores?
The issue is social media and allowing everyone to voice their immediate thoughts on things in pseudo anonymity. It’s also the tendency of people to look at people’s fake persona and then compare themselves to it. I could rent a Lambo for the weekend and use a filter like I’m actually fit and still have hair and make all my former classmates insecure because they never see me in person. That’s the shit everyone wants to go away, they don’t want to give up Spotify.
My family is like this and my wife still does not understand it. We make plans, they are the plans until they change.
“Did you call your mom and see if we’re still going?” Why would I do that? We made the plans. If we say we’re all meeting at the grand canyon at noon on September 1st 2037 then we’ll be there, those are the plans.
It’s a joke. You could have your account tied to an NFT. Then transfer it to another instance if you want.
Except not when Instances pop up for very specific niche categories. The owners can decide how to run them. Since they will likely be impassioned subject matter experts. That will spread the load of moderation away from general instances. Then if their owners get shady or whatever, someone else can create their own and they can post on the big general instances about their new hockey ballet Fortnite instance and the old instance owner can’t stop them.
I think that the company was taking money from someone for letting it go on like that.
They currently let mass account harvesting and spamming go on for some reason. I think it’s because it inflates user numbers and the reposting makes it look like there’s more content than there really is.
I would not be surprised if they sold accounts themselves to media firms. They even mentioned media campaigns in their leaked letter.
Community idea: we develop a fake company that we all “work” at so that we can vouch for each other and use our “experience” on our resumes.
They were nice enough to show a lot of signal data including the identifier. I bought a fairly cheap unpowered antenna, so I didn’t want to extend the cables.
I did contemplate getting a powered cell signal booster but went for the less expensive option.
For the price it’s not competitive with this option. There is also a WISP in the area that will provide a 100 Mbps connection. I’m getting ~250Mbps with these “tweaks.”
Yup, this is definitely not the thread I intended to post in.
I wrote an auto hotkey script where when I press the hotkey combination it opens a user input box. It then takes my search, appends it to the url of approximately 15 retail websites and opens them each in a new tab so that I can find the best price on something at both my local stores and online without touching a separate website.
Example url:
I use an app called 'smart tube next" on my FireTV stick. Im now using re-vanced patched YouTube on my Android.
I would use rif to browse /r/listentothis and open YouTube links of what I wanted to listen to into ~Vanced to cast to my TV. Once a video was cast onto the TV the next link would give me an option to play or put in queue.
Then I could scroll, select, queue, scroll, select, queue, etc.
On Android you can split two apps on your screen, one on top and one on bottom, so I don’t get pulled out of rif when selecting a song.
I know this all sounds complicated, but it’s pretty easy once you understand it.
Anyway, I do this when I’m working around the house. It takes the TV away from me as an option so I don’t get distracted while I’m cleaning.
I wish the queue was available without casting, I know YouTube was experimenting with it as a premium feature. It would probably canalize from YouTube music though.
I should take one just to punish my FBI guy 😤
I’ve definitely noticed the cheap imitations of their product. I’ve even spotted one or two on the shelves at goodwill. I don’t really see those as competition. There’s plenty of other brands of stand mixers out there, yet KitchenAid is still considered a solid buy.
That’s problem with being a one hit wonder. They had a decent product that became popular. Unfortunately there’s only so many people who are in the market for a countertop pressure cooker.
Although there’s plenty of other companies in the space like KitchenAid that have survived over the years.
I was thinking about this problem recently after I got an email from photobucket that I was over the new limit of photos. I think a more appropriate place to host tutorial content would be on GitHub.
It literally looks like 4chan over there, what are you talking about?
