I wouldn’t be surprised if we start to see instances that are dedicated to individual subs/niche topics as things become more spread out. As the user base grows, it’s just not realistic for a handful of instances to host virtually every popular sub across all of lemmy (or all of the fediverse that’s visible from lemmy).
I paid 5 dollars back in 2016, and I was fully expecting to pay more for this version. 20 dollars for no ads is fine by me. However, I don’t feel like the 100 dollars for lifetime ultra is worth it. Maybe someday when I feel like those extra perks are worthwhile

I was reading it as lowering the value of an upvote from instances that are known to harbor click farming accounts. I could be wrong though.
