Oh interesting, I haven’t heard of it – is it also for reproducible systems?
Right? How out of touch can you be to use Elon Musk as a role model?
Yeah this is unfortunately true. I love NixOS and I use it constantly but I’m also a professional developer so it’s pretty easy for me. If I weren’t I imagine it would be close to impossible.
Unfortunately it’s very difficult to browse or understand how to use Nix, and the Nix language itself is quite opaque.
I love the results, but I wish it were done in … basically anything other than Nix.
Super big Caves of Qud fan here!
Yeah I looked into it but it seems kinda dead to me too.
He’s not wrong.
A lot of people will/have moved to Lemmy. The question is, can we take advantage of the momentum and turn this into a real reddit alternative? Because when the blackout ends a lot of people will return to reddit.
You know thinking about it, so much of its content had already become this. Basically half of all posts I’d seen had replies like “this is a karma farming bot, ignore it.” And the other half were just reposts from TikTok.
welcome :)
I’m gone, and I won’t be back.
Yeah, I didn’t even investigate kpub very much though. And Lemmy is a lot of lock-in; obviously once you’re on it, you’re on it.
I guess it is the more robust project so I shouldn’t be too concerned. Will definitely keep an eye on kbin though.
Hmm, interesting. I just spent some time getting a Lemmy instance set up – maybe I should’ve gone for kbin instead?
Is advertising revenue so important to them they’re willing to sacrifice literally everything else for it?
If it’s not easy to use reddit, who will use reddit?
