This is a very simple calculation for me. I follow the “golden rule of liberty”, which can also be called the “harm principle.”

That is, “your rights end where mine begin. my rights end where yours begin”. Or, it is unethical to restrict anyone’s freedoms/liberties (especially expression) if they are not inflicting harm on others (i.e. infringing on their rights).

Furthermore, I object to any level of subjective analysis of the “legality” of art. Ergo, the mindset of “I think this looks childish, therefore it is a child, therefore it is CP” is exceptionally unethical and should not be tolerated.

And moreso, all of this only muddies and minimizes the ACTUAL crime of abusing children and diverts resources away from protection of real, actual children all because of some inane moralizing over someone’s artwork.

You are too hung up on “punishing the immoral” to realize that the ACTUAL need is “protecting the vulnerable” - and those two things are NOT the same.

  • I was with you until you mentioned Beyond Meat. BM is just nasty, and bears no taste or texture resemblance to meat at all. That might be ideal for vegans, but it won’t win over any omni or carnivores.

Impossible is a different story. I can make smash burgers with that stuff that are utterly indistinguishable from a real burger. It won’t trick anyone in a meatloaf but for a burger, it’s pretty impressive.

  • I’ve been playing Star Citizen pretty regularly for years, and still do. While it’s not progressing as quickly as I want it to, it’s definitely progressing… and so long as their current funding model keeps the game evolving, I’m happy with that.

The thing that concerns me about Starfield right now is how little they’ve shown of flight mechanics. I’m starting to get the feeling that space flight is going to be a half-baked afterthought and atmospheric flight might not be a thing at all. We’ll know soon enough, but I am still not going to let myself expect anything more than “Fallout/Elder Scrolls in Space”. All the on-foot gameplay looks great, but I also want to fly around the universe and planets on my own, discover neat things in space, have satisfying space and atmospheric controls/physics, land anywhere, etc.
