I often like to browse the “All” view instead of just my subscribed communities. It helps me find new communities, as well as get information from communities I wouldn’t normally be interested in. Unfortunately, the most popular communities are mostly meme communities. That content does well to grab users, get upvotes, and have comments. As a result, almost any way you sort “All” comes back with Memes at the top unless you block the communities.

Tags are useful for filtering out things. So if a post is tagged with “meme”, I don’t need to see it, even when I’m on a view that’s wider than just my subscriptions. Meme is a good example for me, because at this point I’ve had to block several meme focused communities because it’s content I really don’t care to see. I don’t want to suggest that people who enjoy it shouldn’t be able to, but I also am tired of blocking new communities as I run into them.

  • It’s interesting to see how modern technology is built. I’m guessing FrameWork’s factory is pretty immature compared to bigger companies like Dell, but even still they had a pretty nice setup. There’s a good chance I might get their AMD laptop once it starts shipping. The price isn’t actually bad at all. For a business laptop it seems right in line.

  • Microsoft might improve Blizzard and the rest of Activision, but it will be a net loss for the industry. Microsoft has too much power in the market already, and that will only grow over time as they use their power from other segments to take over more. I see it in the business world already. They basically took over the entire market for business email, then pretty much dropped their self hosting options, leaving most business with only the option of M365. Which is great, until they decided to change partner terms on a dime and increase prices and there wasn’t a damn thing we could do to stop it. Our options are either leave for Google(who’s business tools absolutely suck), or look to FOSS, which has a rather high maintenance cost. Microsoft has that industry captured, and it is almost impossible to break out of.
