No, AuroraOS is the Russian fork of Sailfish.

Sailfish was in kahoots with the developers of Aurora, but they split ties when Putin spat the dummy at Ukraine.

Personally I wouldn’t buy a Jolla C2, but if you can get your hands on an Xperia 10 (working features vary by version, my 10 IV is not too bad but the 10 III is more polished) or a device supported by one of the better community ports, it’s worth a go.

It’s a mixed bag. VoLTE is required in Australia (no 2G or 3G anymore) and SFOS does support it so that’s good, but for some reason calls are stuck on speakerphone as the earpiece speaker doesn’t work. The GPS lock is quite slow. I also don’t have working cameras, and every time I unplug the charger the phone reboots.

On the plus side, the Android app support is really good (though I still use native SFOS apps wherever possible, but for banking etc. its handy). I have no stability problems, its pretty rock solid bar for the charger issue. I’ve daily driven it since about October last year, and honestly if I could make private phone calls it would be perfectly fine for me.

I will note that community developed ports are available for other devices with potentially better hardware compatibility, but the Android app support is not included as it’s proprietary (though Waydroid exists as an alternative) and VoLTE support is touch and go on other devices.

I can’t sort by anything other than default as of this update. Currently writing from Thunder instead.

Also, a moderator is a volunteer - not a politician on six figures a year, or a mega business owner on seven. A volunteer is perfectly in their rights to pause volunteering when they feel their work is not appreciated.

As a full time colemak user, QWERTY really does my head in these days. I regress to a one-finger typist every time!

And Visio and OneNote aren’t free. Draw.io and Xournalpp would be potential alternatives.

Curiously, I can’t see lemmy.ml content in my Jerboa feed, but it’s working in the browser.

Kdenlive is my go-to these days, but it’s interface can take a moment to get used to. Plenty of tutorials and such on YouTube, however.

If you’re on a Mac, iMovie is as good as it gets for casual production. Look no further.

Finally, if you’re on Windows and don’t like the look of kdenlive, I don’t see any reason not to use Windows Media Maker from Windows Live Essentials 2012. There’s a lot of crapware around these days pretending to be a modern version of Media Maker, but the old one still does what it needs to, and to my knowledge there’s no official replacement to date.

I’m just sad that I keep seeing interesting subreddits I’d never heard of before go private. I’ve missed my chance to check out those communities! Hopefully they migrate to Lemmy in some capacity.

Just goes to show that they were intending to kill 3PAs from the start.

I imported an Xperia 10 IV about a month after launch. It’s a brilliant form factor, but I’m very sad that it doesn’t look like sailfish will ever arrive for it.

Nevertheless, I’m glad I bought it - and like you say, the headphone jack gets used frequently enough that you’d miss it if it wasn’t there.
