What? No it doesn’t.
A lot of the value of subs, especially technical subs, is their backlog of content, usually technical help etc. That doesn’t sound like what this person was doing though. They were just trying to get the initial recent content over. Which you can say “No it doesn’t make sense” and I can say “I think it make senses” all day until we’re blue in the face.
No it isn’t.
Astounding rhetoric.
Migrating posts over seems reasonable to me. If you want to migrate people, you got to migrate content and lemmy is bereft of content.
The dude in question included their intention to move stuff in their application for an account.
Also lack of content is an issue on lemmy right now. We need more people posting.
Thought about that but it doesn’t seem to be active from what I can tell.
Why?
What’s WA?
The pavilion plugin was promised ages ago though no?
I was hoping discourse would actually integrate it as a first class part of the application but they seem to be shy of it. And with no solid plugin to serve as a proof of concept it doesn’t feel like the issue will be resolved anytime soon.
Furthermore there seems to be a real problem with how to treat identity in the fediverse. I feel like that problem is still unresolved. I hear people talking about did etc but I’m not educated on the matter well enough to really say much about it.
How do I follow from jerboa?
Why does pleorma attract bad actors?
Far too many people in the fediverse are unwilling to look at where it is falling short of serving as a replacement for the current centralized social media platforms. They would rather write articles about how the fediverse is different that’s good and we sure do hope no smell ol jocks come dragging down the vibe of our exclusive nerd hangout.
It’s real crab mentality.
I want the fediverse to go mainstream but a lot of people very clearly only want to have it as their exclusive little hipster hang out.
Thanks. Not very easy to do from an app like lemmur I guess.
How do I subscribe without signing up for a new account on that instance?
I wonder if Solid could be used to deal with federated ID?
I don’t think you can use gpl for anything but code. Creative commons license would be more appropriate.
