Well peertube is struggling already so thats a valid question. Idk if they using peertube style bitorrent video delivery that might help offload the cost a little.
Really oracles hosting will let me do that for free? Do i need a domain ur can i use some subdomain service for it?
I might do that, are they gonna ban me for arguing with almost everyone tho?
I wish i could, dont have the money to pay for hosting and my own internet is wayyy to slow for that
Alright what instance do i jump ship to?
So what ur saying is severs should have a default ban list for users that u can be ammended if u want? Maybe label each server as to why its on the list so u can unban an instance and not have to check if its depraved shit urself.
Dont see how it will become a nazi bar if u can personally delete them from your existance.
On it
For the love of god fix ur mobile css
Its foss go ask chatgpt and submit a pull request.
Scaled sort is busted allegedly and the big communities are dominating on all the sort options thats a real problem that needs fixing.
I dont see a problem here wont effect the people who sub to sport and thus care cos if all the sports getting downvoted nobody is.
I feel its a feature not a bug. It theoretically should filter the overall content to a more “average” viewpoint be the one that bubbles to the top this should mean that the more extreme views will be downvoted more and help solve the massive political divide that the existing echochambers have helped create.
Downvotes will always be used as a “i dont like this” and “i disagree with this” thats just what people gonna do when they have an emotional responce to somethibg they see. I recon its fine tho cos all people are going to dislike bad content but only specific groups will dislike other content. Might lead to some groups getting targetted but only the extremists like the nazis, communists, and vegans will be targeted and thats fine they are extremists.
The centralisation should be fine but definatly something to keep an eye on.
There have been many attempts to add content licencing but some of the devs (lemmy devs) really dont like the idea.
Its already implemented on peertube and pixelfed but lemmy devs have so far refused to add it.
All that needs to happen now is for it to work with activpub
How can i bump this
Is there a peertube link?
I was more thinking how hard it would be to have one server that is both a mastadon and a lemmy instance. I know backend they interact with activpub differently but i was thinking u could probably just serve both lemmy and mastadon api and do some dodgying up where/if they interfear with eachother. Not sure how u would deal with WebFinger tho.
I would test it myself exept Takahe seems to use django and PieFed is flask cos of cause we cant have Takahe also use flask that would make life to easy.
All of the above
