understood, thanks :-)
I’m using NewPipe, which gives me music in background and no Ads
that’s enough for me
out of interest, what other advantages does a premium account have?
didn’t know about piped, thanks for the recommendation!
anything to know about before setting it up?
like some pitfalls or hiccups?
I complete get the frustration, I’ve just grown stubborn ;-)
and very nice to meet another Punk connoisseur!
well somehow have to reward and “punish” the network, so it learns.
maybe I’m just very stubborn, but I already let the complete family of my girlfriend switch to Signal, because else I wouldn’t communicate with them.
I think, I’m just projecting some work frustration into my private life and don’t want to eat shit anymore. so, if I’m not work for them to choose a medium, I’m fine with, I accept, that they don’t want to talk with me. I do have no problem with less communication - it’s their problem, when I don’t show up to happenings.
But I understand you, I also take it somehow personally, when people tell me “what do you have to hide?”
As I was part of the founders of a pirate party in my country, I’m maybe more loaded with arguments, but I’m just fed up with this shit and I just don’t take it anymore.
in situations of being left alone, some lovely Punk music always helps me - and my girlfriend is on my side, so that’s a major influence as well of course
but hey, if everyone is just looks for convenience, I can do too
yeah, well, maybe…
usually unexpected situations have unexpected errors. so yeah, you could be right
I just revolted and said, if anyone wants to communicate with me, they need to use e.g. Signal.
I’m absolutely not installing this spyware on my phone
I’m not sure if it’s just a load balancing issue. if all of Reddit can only access specific subs, maybe they split their servers that way
but I’m just guessing, because it doesn’t make much sense to go down, when there is less data to process…
woah nice!
thanks for the recommendation, will need to try a self hosted setup
I recently stumbled over Odysee and am not exactly sure where to put them category wise. they are a federated service as well, aren’t they?
I was absolutely amazing!
complete wild west. only limit was your mind/imagination.
at least it felt like that, when I was young ;-)
I’ve been loving Hades, but I’m currently fighting to get done emulation working - although I didn’t spend much time and I at least know, where I fucked up…
really? seems I’m getting old…
checking my Steam, it seems it was Trackmania Turbo
I was playing Trackmania like a manic +10 years ok. tried it on my steam deck now and didn’t find any server with users.
was this a Steam Deck issue or is it really that empty?
solupi was down the last hour or so.
that’s also where the image is hosted, so I guess it was due to that, that you couldn’t load it.
it seems sometimes the thumbnail isn’t loaded correctly. so just “clicking” into the empty dark space on the right opens the link.
at least for me that has worked now in every case.
ok, I do understand how different lemmy/kbin instances can communicate, but I always thought, that different applications (like Mastadon or some micro blogging stuff) has their own federated network.
they are all interconnected? Oo
out of curiosity, how (with which other federated service) do you access Lemmy content on another service?
edit: someone down already posted this overview
https://axbom.com/fediverse/
I’m still not entirely sure how all is connected and works together.
i think, I have to read up. if anyone has some further links to read into, I’d be very happy :-)
I’m not sure if the post text was changed, but he says, that he tries to get a pull request (for a merge), but seems original Jerboa maintainer isn’t jumping on it. But I don’t know any details
