Maybe try reinstalling? That sounds weird.

Hahaha I’m definitely nowhere near close to a firefighter.
But yeah the process is pretty much how you described it, we just write some code and send it. Then there’s usually a bit of back and forth of code reviews from the team and then it gets incorporated into the project.
Jerboa is available from a few different places, the fastest and easiest way to get updates is to use F-Droid with the Izzy repo, for which you do need side loading but it’s really easy on Android so you shouldn’t have a problem there. It will also get to the play store eventually but it usually takes more time because Google has to verify the app as you said.
It’s now done and merged, so it’ll come in the next version whenever that is.
I’m pretty sure this hasn’t been implemented yet.
I fixed this a couple days ago here
That’s just how Lemmy works, if you’re the first person in your server to search for a community Lemmy will have to fetch it, which can take some time.
I would add a share intent with a label to which you could share links from other apps, which would then make Jerboa open the link. I think I can work on this.
One workaround for this would be to make Jerboa add a new share action which would open the link in the app, this way you could long press any links you see and send them to Jerboa.
I made a PR to fix this, hopefully it’ll be on the next update.
I’m working on an image viewer to display images in-app, hopefully in a few days it’ll be done.
