  • For all the issues with the lemmy developers (and they’re completely valid, though I’m not as familiar with the ins and outs of the discourse given how new I am to the fediverse) I appreciate their candor. I guess part of it is just that I’m used to corporate speak when receiving website updates and what not, but as long as they’re receptive to changes that the platform needs and continue to make the platform more stable, safer, and more feature-rich, it’s nice having a home on the fediverse run by genuine people, even if they’re people I’m not the most aligned with ideally – to be charitable

  • That makes sense! It’s cool that engi has become a lot more friendly to lower intensity players, i like that a lot. It used to have a shared reputation with ele as the piano class, so it’s fun seeing that change :)

Tbh, there’s a ton of builds that are good enough for PvP – I play willbender (arguably too much) in every mode and I think it’s really fun and straightforward, but it’s not a low-apm build by any stretch Scrapper’s really good in pvp right now actually, might be worth looking at hardstuck for some builds in that vein? Support tempest and heal guardian are also both excellent and worth playing if you want a support build, highly recommended

  • If you have any PvP questions, hit me up! I actually just finished grinding out Ascension last month and really enjoyed the process – especially because i have a background in both fighting games and battlerite, which both translate somewhat well to guild wars, and I’m always happy to help someone learn :) And dont be afraid, that’s what ranks are for! Even if someone gets mad at you for “holding them back” remember they’re in that mmr bracket with you for a reason and they’re just mad they’re not playing to their own expectation, and it’s not fair for you to hold yourself to some random person’s standard :)

    What specs do you play?

  • Honestly I love it to bits. I was top 500 for a time in battlerite royale duos, so when it died I wanted a game that scratched that same itch that actually had a marketing push behind it so people would play it. Omega strikers isn’t quite the same as battlerite, but it scratches a similar enough itch to where I’ve been really, really happy with my time with it. Played it in beta and just got obsessed lol

I will say it’s not a game I can play for hours on hours like valorant, but I spend like an hour or two with it every few days and it’s consistently fun. Biggest issue is cross play with mobile players and switch players means you’re pretty likely to queue with like 11 year olds that don’t know what they’re doing, but cross play like that is a necessary evil to keep a game like this alive. It’s super fun with friends though, I can’t recommend it enough

  • No game has ever occupied so much of my mind as NieR: Automata. I beat the game, thought “huh, that was pretty good”, and then thought about it again the next day. and again. and again. again. again. again. again. again. I just could not stop thinking about what the game was trying to say or how it made me feel, and it’s just become more and more important to me as time has gone on. Really incredible game

  • Honestly, great point. Aggregators don’t need a hugely enfranchised userbase, just enough people that share a few interests and suddenly, functionally, it’s comparable to reddit. Only thing it’s missing is a huge knowledge base of questions already answered, but for the most part that’s not the bulk of my reddit experience and something else will replace it for that in time. But as long as there’s some people here, it’s doing it’s job

I wish I liked jerboa more as an app, the fact that I cant hold to hide comments, the fact that opening comments in my inbox requires more than just clicking on the comment, how tricky it is to sub to communities from multiple instances – it’s just really fidgety and I wish that a smoother app existed. But it’s good enough for the time being

  • Honestly I super agree, I got into Genshin so I could have something to play during the texas freeze and I’m glad it sucked me in during that time because it’s SUPER fun – the story isn’t remarkable all the time, but it’s cool getting a serialized narrative through the form of a game like that. I’m really glad I got into it, even if hoyoverse doesn’t seem interested in adding more endgame content at all
