Maybe they angered some group/people with certain political leanings, which tried to smear their reputation? At least that is the general gist of things i’m getting based on quick browsing of these. At least I can’t find anything bad.
i removed my reddit bookmarks and added lemmy instead. now i instinctually come here instead.
Well, even the digg is still around so people must use that too even though it looked quite horrible when i took a peek out of curiosity. I doubt reddit will crumble completely but it probably wont recover (assuming they make complete turnaround).

One way to anonymize voting, if desired, could be just make a mess out of who voted what in the logs. I vote something, some other random user’s name is logged. Or maybe that could be used to deter scrapers and make the incorrect logging reverseable somehow that requires actual human interaction that cant be automated.
