And we will still be here when Reddit finally does implode. Either from high interest rates and not being able to raise money or whatever we will still be here.

I think it’s one particular community on Kbin. I know that if that kind of stuff came into the community that I moderate, it would not last very long because I would murder it.
But hosting ops do accept crypto. Have a look on https://monerica.com
Except that I pay for things all the time with it and have been doing so for over a year now. It is a currency like any other and is accepted as such. The biggest difference is I know exactly how much currency exists and know what the inflation rate is and will be and know that my money is actually safe.
One of the big points of crypto is that everybody can be their own bank because nobody is going to look after your money as well as you are going to look after your own money. I actually practice what I preach and hold very little fiat currency and hold mostly gold and crypto.
The dollar is a pyramid scheme that scams people out of their life savings every day. It’s called inflation. It’s generally hard to see in your savings account day to day, but if you work for 30 years, for example, you can really see it in your retirement account, because that $500,000 or more in your retirement account can’t buy nearly what it could when you started work at age 20. Everybody needs to flee fiat currencies such as the dollar and go to some sort of cryptocurrency where the rules are known and cannot be changed or go to gold.
I have been unsubscribing from communities on beehaw and finding their siblings on other instances so that if they decide to leave i have already mostly disconnected from them and my home feed wont become a shell of itself.
Lol. I like jerboa for sure, but i have been really working with the Thunder devs on accessibility. Another thing is Jerboa has a slower release cycle and no public betas. Totally understandable since they are also improving lemmy itself. The problem with it though is if you submit a bug and it gets fixed you have to wait weeks to test it (unless you build from source) and it may still not be totally fixed or could be done better.
The dups annoy me, otherwise i would.
The way i handle this is to sub to the biggest community on a given topic i can find. The exception to this is if i find a smaller community that is more active.
I honestly havent used Jerboa since i started using Thunder. That was around Jerboa 0.0.36 or so.
No, have to use the web ui for now
Thunder just got this feature recently so maybe jerboa will too.
That’s what she said
Next version is adding this i think. https://github.com/hjiangsu/thunder/blob/main/CHANGELOG.md
Strange. The first bug of bad jitter was opened on 0.0.32 and i have experienced bad jitter on 0.0.34, 0.0.35, and 0.0.36. I recently switched my main app to Thunder and am having a much nicer lemmy experience.
Try airplane mode until you get to the login screen or try out thunder. https://github.com/hjiangsu/thunder/
Yeah, i think the main repo has 0.0.34. If you add IzzyOnDroid it has the latest version
