So let’s say, if I post my a$$ accidentally; they can use, sell, broadcast, advertise, reproduce, resell and publicly perform it?

Nah. Let Mastodon zuck Threads and choke.

syd@lemy.loltoAnnouncements@lemmy.ml•Upcoming AMA with Lemmy's Developers: Friday, Jan 26, 1500 CEDTEnglish15·1 year agoMy questions may seem like they were written by the FBI :) but you can skip some of them if you want. These are things I’m a little more personally curious about.
- How old are you guys? Can be a range if you want e.g. 10-15, 15-20 :)
- Do you know each other IRL?
- Which region do you live in? Like America, Europe, Asia etc.
- Are you educated? IDK. did you attend university for example?
- How much of a reason for your contribution to Lemmy is the fact that you are a leftist (I’m assuming)?
- If Lemmy had 100 million users, would you still try to remain anonymous?
- Are you fat?
- Is there an instance admin you hate but can’t say?
- What percentage of users should ideally be in the largest Lemmy instance do you believe?
- If you had the chance to change the name Lemmy, would you?
- If Reddit were an instance, would you be federated?
- What music genre do you like?
- How many years do you foresee for Lemmy to stabilize?
- Would you consider making Lemmy’s default interface sleeker?
Sorry for taking up all the space :) But please skip the ones you wish.
syd@lemy.loltoAnnouncements@lemmy.ml•Upcoming AMA with Lemmy's Developers: Friday, Jan 26, 1500 CEDTEnglish6·1 year agoCool! I had some personal questions in mind, apart from Lemmy. These won’t be a problem right?
syd@lemy.loltoAnnouncements@lemmy.ml•Lemmy Security Advisory for Versions < `0.19.1`: Private message details leak.English4·1 year ago0.18.6 would make sense TBH.

Listening to people like @[email protected], Eugen Rochko and other fediverse developers would be cool! I loved the voice of the friend who emphasizes the "sh"s :)
Will it work with current apps like Mastodon, Lemmy, Peertube etc? I couldn’t find any data about it.
If I dislike a movie, book, game or food; I would criticise the movie, book, game or food and not the director’s, writer’s, developer’s or chef’s political views.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying don’t criticise their political views. I’m saying don’t criticise the product because of their political views.
If you don’t like their way of developing, then do it yourself, cunt.
Instances are not shadow banning, they all listed in instance list page.
I didn’t get the mod drama thing. I guess this guy mixing instance admins with community mods.
Also, I don’t think there is that much blocking between instances except Beehaw, since they want to create a refined user base.
Edit: what I was telling here is only applies to Lemmy. Looks like things are different for Mastodon side. So this comment may have a realistic view. I just don’t have enough experience on there.

syd@lemy.lolto Fediverse@lemmy.ml•Lemmy's active users are up again for the first time since the exodus12·2 years agoAbsolutely. Other social media platforms count as active when we mistakenly enter their sites :)
syd@lemy.lolto Fediverse@lemmy.ml•Lemmy's active users are up again for the first time since the exodus80·2 years agoIt could be about programming.dev and lemmynsfw.com stat changes: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/pull/4235
TL;DR: By default, Lemmy only counts posts and comments for active users. These instances also started counting the votes. According to Lemmy NSFW admin, there are 3 times more active users with lurkers.
Pretty good idea. I’m against bots all the way but cross posts by real users makes sense to me. Thanks for your effort 🙏
