I have. It’s dreadful. Suggesting it as the solution to a problem created by software that is not ready is profoundly stupid.

I have selfhosted.forum blocked. All the posts I see I see no point in replying and since they’re all tech support it’s not like I learn something from reading them
It’s a bug in pict-rs, the image server used in Lemmy.
It tries stripping away the tags on uploaded images, so that you can’t doxx yourself with location tags, but it can fail to recognize image formats and if that happens all tags are stripped instead of all tags but the rotation tag.
I sent the dev a fix like a month ago but no response.
Sure. Reddit could, if they wanted, implement activitypub and join Lemmy, and Twitter could too and join Mastodon. Of course, since their server software wasn’t designed to do this it would be a significant investment and they won’t want to do it for a slew of business reasons, but if they really wanted they could.
Bro you get to play 3 days early bro I swear overkill changed the game won’t be filled with bugs on release bro trust me
even if the guy did and would be found guilty of child porn (for which he would deserve to rot in hell)
in this guy’s shoes i would be this close to encasing a bulldozer in concrete and going for a ride.
10k is just the nominal fee, the real costs are in the certifications and audits.
In theory you could become a registrar and pay the icann’s fee per domain to sell domains to yourself for cheaper. In practice, becoming a registrar is prohibitively expensive because you have to pay ICANN 10k, and then spend a whole lot more on certifications and processes, and audits from auditors. I recommend staying away from GoDaddy as they are infamous for being very bad to do business with, personally I’d recommend gandi.net and google.domains. namecheap also has interesting offerings.
If you are a student, the Github Student Pack gives you a free .me domain for a year.
HDMI has a 5V power rail (your adapter isn’t passive, it’s just parasitic on that rail). I’m guessing that this old hardware isn’t equipped with diodes everywhere, and the fan 5V is connected directly to the PCIe 5V rail, and the card is also not shielded and so the 5V rail ends up directly connected to the monitor.
If i was to guess I’d say that the adapter itself also has a part in this. I think it is sending back power when it shouldn’t.
Heavily agree. Imo both resolve and KDEnlive are capable of very complex things so might appear as though they are complex to use, but they are only as complex as the thing you’re trying to do. If all you need is cut and move, they are dead simple.
The steam page also reveals 40€/$ base price, up to 90 for golden pro max epic preorder edition.
More expensive editions give you cosmetics and 6 months/1 year of season pass, at a rate of 2 new heists available every 6 months. I’m not sure I like this but given the alternative is the current 150€ worth of DLC for pd2 maybe it’s not that bad? Please?
It also lists “in-app purchases” on the sidebar which doesn’t bode well, but I hope overkill learned from the initial skin releases and it’ll all be just cosmetics (Which still fucking sucks but at least the playing field is level).
A hexbear in that thread is literally claiming that “the soldiers did everything they could to avoid hurting him” when there’s a photo of him lying dead on the street after the tanks have gone through. They don’t think it’s fine, they’re saying it didn’t happen (curious)
