Both Discourse and NodeBB are working on fediverse integration, Discourse’s is already live but they are still adding features to it

I’m on sharkey, I have setup antennas for the tags I care about and I have a pretty good list of people I follow. I enjoy all the features, even if I don’t use all of them personally. I really like the PWA but sometimes I use Moshidon, a Mastodon client.
Switch servers, I have had nothing but good interactions
Fanlore already exists as an alternative
There’s a big culture of Yes And improv, shitposting, and reblogging really old posts on a periodic basis
Some content does get locked but usually it’s when the comments go off the rails, so it’s pretty rare
There’s Sharkey, which is also a fork of Misskey like Firefish
There were some federation issues with the 0.19 upgrade, I do not know if the server admin has gotten around to updating to 0.19.1 yet
Maybe somebody who knows that a ton of people don’t speak English and such a rule makes FOSS look bad
That’s something I guess
I’m sorry but Fosstodon lost all of my respect with their ‘English only’ rule
Basically, the main feature that’s missing is that reblogging works the same way as replying does on lemmy except it’s expanded by default. So a lot of Tumblr culture is basically ‘Yes And’ improv.
I think they have an official blog?
Caught most of it, really good stuff. Going to watch the rest of it later
I enjoy FireFish but it’s too much like Twitter to replace Tumblr, somebody is working on a fediverse version of Tumblr tho
Those of us that are still using Tumblr are very against data collection and adds, Automattic has made some mistakes and us users are not very happy with them so they know they are on thin ice
Adding to this, a lot of times these communities forget to be intersectional, so they end up having a racist or terf problem
I’m a woman and I don’t follow any of those communities. I don’t have pronouns on my profile so people probably assume I’m a dude. I have seen misogyny called out pretty much everytime, so lemmy is in a pretty good place already imo.
Wafrn is in early stages but looks promising
