Possibly a stupid question, but what qualifies something as “schnitzel” rather than just… fried chicken?
Its to do with it being thin, boneless, breaded meat slices that may or may not be chicken (veal is also quite popular).
Fried chicken is a similar term that may refer to korean chicken, bone-in chicken or many other dishes
