Don’t forget the amazing music! Man I need to play through it again.

Same here! Dunno why FH5 didn’t have that same magic but 4 was such a blast!
Still holding out for Ogre Battle 64, there’s really nothing like it.
What is it about Lego Island? It feels like there’s always something new being discovered with that game.
I bought it on launch and I really don’t remember having any issues. I’m always surprised it has such a bad rep.
It looks glorious! I’ve been waiting for a really good mech game for ages!
Or alt qq from Warcraft.
I’d argue that FPS games have been more than that for ages. What about Half Life? Metro? Bioshock?
I hope that unlike Fallout 4, Starfield has more encounters you can talk your way out of. It drove me crazy all the named Raiders with cool back stories that you only found out about through terminal entries and handwritten notes. Don’t get me wrong, I do want that sort of storytelling too, but it does sort of lend weight to the criticism that it’s too gun focused, and I am definitely timid about Starfield ending up the same way.
You gotta play a few rounds of Golf With Your Friends, it’s hysterical!
I would also recommend picking up Tabletop Simulator, the amount of board games that game handles through the Steam Workshop is insane.
Anybody else remember Global Gladiators on the Sega Genesis? It was a McDonalds tie in but actually pretty fun!
Interesting you bring up Subnautica, because I remember thinking when I played it “Wow, this game sounds a lot like Half Life!” And wouldn’t you know it, the devs started out as Half Life modders. It goes without saying that the sound design in Half Life is impeccable, and truly iconic. Clearly they learned something!
Definitely seconding this suggestion.
Most of my favorites are already here, but one that’s unfortunately overlooked is the soundtrack to Arcanum: of Steamworks and Magic Obscura. It’s all this really moody, atmospheric string quartet music that just fits the game perfectly. I really recommend you give it a shot, it’s really unique!

Hey I’ve also got a bunch of red Space Marines
Right at the beginning of Nier Automata when it shifts into a bullet hell game for a bit and the already amazing soundtrack changes styles to match I just knew I was in for an amazing experience.
A really well done survival-craft gameplay loop is sooo addicting. When they get the balance just right it’s so satisfying, but when it’s off a little bit it can be so frustrating. For example I thought Subnautica had a really great balance of resource gathering and building and exploring. On the other hand, something like Raft has the balance way off and it’s really not fun for me at all.
I was always really underwhelmed by them, but that was probably because I had already played a Game Boy lol
