Can I ask how this particular meal works with your limitations? I have strategies I’ve had to implement too, so I’m always interested in how others manage.

I’m glad I just ate, otherwise I would have been even more jealous. It looks like perfection and I wish I could eat it.
Oh man, the edges got all crunchy. They look even better!
I’d love to see them fried up and served, they look great! I appreciate the novel presentation, I wonder how well it holds up.
It’s a real pity. Some of us use the archive links because modern websites ignore accessibility guidelines and create hostile UX. So many popups and animations and autoplay videos with sound.
While I understand their motives, the result is a move towards an internet that excludes people further
Ah yeah, the difficulty of biting is why I don’t serve it quite like this. Also for cleaning reasons, sometimes some grit will be trapped in the base.
I usually separate the leaves out, and if it’s too big, will give them a few chops to make them more bite-size. This means I don’t just get a face full of only bok choy.
Vitamins and fibre. That’s why I eat most vegetables, not because I love them.
Bok choy is great because you can cook an entire head in the microwave in under 5 mins. It’s my standard Asian leafy green. I’m not OP though.
I have been deep cleaning my kitchen and found some cake decorating supplies. I am considering doing something similar soon!
Also, that sounds like an awesome day to me; there’s nothing like guilt-free indulgent active relaxation.
I have also bought and made myself birthday cakes. It looks delicious and i hope you have the best day doing whatever the hell you want!
I didn’t light a candle though, I’m too impatient for the eating cake part.
Coconut milk? Is this to replace yoghurt and cashew nut paste?
I would buy that though, if I saw it where i am. My kitchen is low storage/space and already filled with Euro/East Asian stuff to fit everything for West Asian foods too.
Brutal. This is why I don’t go near databases unless I have to.
Every time you perform an action like commenting, you expect it to maybe update a few things. The post will increase the number of comments so it updates that, your comment is added to the list so those links are created, your comment is written to the database itself, etc. Each action has a cost, let’s say it costs a dollar every update. Then each comment would cost $3, $1 for each action.
What if instead of doing 3 things each time you posted a comment, it did 1300 things. And it did the same for everyone else posting a comment. Each comment now costs $1300. You would run out of cash pretty quickly unless you were a billionaire. Using computing power is like spending cash, and lemmy.world are not billionaires.
I think you might grossly underestimate my appetite for naan, but I can forgive you for assuming that it’s a sensible amount.
Unfortunately, you did lose me at 15mins aggressive kneading. But I am now a little more appreciative of my local yet pricy professional naan bakers!
Looks fantastic. I’m too scared to try making naan at home because I’ll eat way too much of it.
If you build it, they will come (to break it).
Makes sense, I forget not everyone has to strategise their food around nutrition like me.
It does look delicious though. I may have to try an adaptation. Thanks for the idea!
I think it could use a little extra protein. A lentil or bean patty made with chicken stock might work if it needs to be low cost. Or a fried egg if you’re rich?
Maybe add a tiny dash of strawberry or good balsamic vinegar to boost the intensity a little? And maybe some fresh basil!
Oof. I have a different musculoskeletal problem with a far less interesting story behind it, but functionally a quite similar limitation that also prevents much… verticality. I completely hear you on the mindless zombie complications too, it’s fucking awful. I’m sorry we have both found ourselves in this shitty boat!
The meal makes good sense. 30 mins is a fair bit though, so I can see why you space it our that far.
If you ever feel like something a little different, maybe one of my tricks might help you. I order delivery… but I extend it out by nuking potatoes and frozen vegetables. A potato the size of my fist takes 3 mins 30 in my microwave, broccoli and spinach similar from frozen. The tinned tomatoes I buy are also a “heat up and add flavors” quick option because they’re not watery.
One curry from my local Indian place that has way too much sauce turns into 3 meals with a much better nutritional balance when I dump any or all of those in. They’re done before the food even arrives, i don’t have to watch an appliance with a flame, or clean much, and the cost per portion reduces to something sensible.
TIL that’s a thing. I just have to ration mine to a ridiculous degree at a low dosage or i get the more common peristalsis problems in a very unpleasant way.
Amen. And I wish you the best of luck in doing so.
