Hey! Please contact me at my primary Fedi account: @[email protected]
Federated alternative to shXtter
Would be better to ask users on those sites directly, since we’re only familiar with Lemmy here lol
That KF community is clearly satirical IMO, the one week old post on there is literally a farming youtube video.
This is like complaining that Anime Titties [email protected] is pornographic, when it’s actually a politics community
Was this during the sync thing?
To be honest as a mod or admin I would personally get sick of reading the same things over and over again, with sync fans attacking staunch FOSSers and staunch FOSSers attacking sync fans. It only served to get both sides upset for literally no reason, and fracture the community even more.
Their inboxes would have also likely been flooded out to death during that time with both sides reporting each other over petty remarks
Doesn’t make it right, however I can see why it happened. Probably another reason behind the “dont report something unless its against the terms” rule.
We could do this for any group of people we don’t like IMO… Doesn’t make it right, regardless of how disgusting their actions may be ☹️
I like my pineapple pizzas with a bbq base 🤪 don’t come after me 😂
Ooohh, we on the same instance 😁👋
Unless they changed it - the last time I checked there was an exception for posts violating community rules, so communities who want to exempt themselves can just add a rule IMO
From my perspective, communities in general instantly remove racist content once reported, and most racial slurs in these contexts are used as a personal attack towards another individual.
🔥HOT TAKE: There are contexts where racial slurs could be used without bad intentions, such as in a car visual customization community, or in a community with people of colour referencing each other. These slurs are especially used among younger age groups in a casual manner, who may not consider such terms offensive at their current point in life. Of course, such communities can just ban these terms outright with a new rule.
Unless i’m missing something, I don’t see the problem with this
Post titles can be edited after posting, at least on Lemmy
Integrating something like Matrix is not an easy feat, there is a lot of heavy lifting being done in the background to make things easier for us users, like key generation, message signing, verifying logins etc. that another dev may not have the time or resources to implement. Lemmy partially solves this with a dedicated message button if you have a Matrix account linked
I think the keywords “twitter” and “Elon” should sort it out, most articles and posts I’ve seen to refer to it as formerly twitter or Elon’s X
Aside from that, could ‘X’ with spaces on either side possibly work, and another filter with ‘X’ in quotes? Those shouldn’t block the word Xylophone I think.
Two things come to mind - your instance might have restricted image uploads because of the recent moderation situation, and another possibility is that the image file itself might be too big.
You could try uploading them to another image service (like imgur) and then use the imgur link in the URL field of your post
Currently no easy way to tell if it’s a bot IMO
Usually Kbin exposes the users who voted, but that community doesn’t appear to be federating there correctly at the mo
I was contemplating setting up an instance dedicated to micromobility, active transport and livable cities… but this is a BIG turn off - I don’t think it’s worth spinning up a new instance until the new mod tools land, and the ability to disable caching federated thumbnails
There are some instances using ML to scan their pictrs folder IIRC, could be good if it could quarantine/delete/purge posts from Lemmy
Do you want ppb? Because this is how you get ppb.
Nope the button does nothing - if I disagree with something I either comment, scroll past or block. We can’t send or receive federated downvotes either.
…for the most part, unless I see a user personally attacking another user then I switch to my alt on another instance and press that sweet 👎 button 🫣🤭🤫
My instance has downvotes disabled regardless 😅
I see the rest of images in the comments but my device sloooooows down while loading it up
Things are already like that somewhat, as far as I can see.
Smaller instances for the most part need to have registration signups or capcha as a minimum, otherwise they risk swift defederation from larger instances when spammers arrive
As lemmy’s mod tools improve I see things moving away from this approach though
I like this figure of speech a lot, stealing it 😁
