  • Just an fyi, defederation doesn’t mean you as a user can’t see any content from a given instance or vice versa. It’s more like from the time of defederation, users on the other Lemmy can’t be seen commenting or posting on your Lemmy. I believe there are other consequences too, but it’s not as straightforward as a ban.

Defederation is a feature, not a bug. Lemmy was designed with the idea that instances could be more specific in thier content, so for your lemmy to defederate from a Ukraine war footage instance might not be a condemnation, so much as a curation decision.

Think of it like, an instance has the potential to be either a reddit alternative or a collection of related subreddits.

  • I’m addicted to it on the deck. It runs fine, between 30 and 45 fps.

Generally, DS is absolutely worth the cost of entry, especially if you’re bored of conventional gameplay loops. However, the building mechanics are not particularly exciting in thier own right. The most innovate part of building is the odd, shared world aspect of it.

DS is more about wrapping a very satisfying hiking simulator in a metal gear esc, beautiful, positive, horror, action rpg with passive cooperative online features.

  • Obligate stamina bars/circles for traversal. Just allow me to move at the speed of fun, and definitely don’t make me stand still to recharge when climbing.

I think it’s telling that death stranding, a game all about traversal, let’s you sprint outright for as long as you want until well after your character’s shoes literally fall off. The stamina bar is more a measure of abuse rather than a limit on your movement.
