I don’t think if it as a fight. It’s just people making choices about the content they want to see and services making choices about the content they wish to host. Which is how it was intended to work. For the most part I think it’s just healthy.

Many ISP:s also forbid hosting servers in their terms of use, regardless of the technical possibilities.
I had the battery for my OnePlus 6T replaced, extending the phone lifetime for probably 2 years. It cost me about $100.
Forcing manufacturers to make batteries easily replaceable by the user without special tools and skills seems like it could make phones less lightweight and less waterproof. I would be fine if they just require manufactures to make it available as a reasonably priced service.
How is the reading experience on an Android phone? Is there an app?
I miss Google Reader. Is there anything like that now? Also, can anyone recommend an Android app for RSS?
I played Myst in my youth, got stuck over and over and finally gave up. When Riven came I was so impressed by the music, graphics and story that I pushed through for years. Might have been nearly a decade, with fairly long pauses in between. I had to look up how to solve one or two puzzles but overall I got through it with persistence more than IQ.
After that I played through Myst by just looking up everything I couldn’t solve, for the story. The 3D version of Myst has a hint system built in that makes it much easier.
I would suggest to give yourself a couple of days to a week to solve a problem by yourself and if that’s not enough you look it up. The story is where the Myst universe shines, but the original game actually doesn’t reveal a lot of it. It gets more intricate in Riven. The books that go along with the games are really good, they bring a lot of backstory into it. It’s an epic story spanning thousands of years, similar to The Lord of the Rings.
Riven gives me goosebumps every time.
I haven’t even played Machinarium or Samorost 3, but both of those soundtracks are masterpieces.
Mods also rely on third-party apps that use the API, and those are being shut down. I don’t think they care about the mods at this point.
Probably Dreamfall Chapters.
Sorry, I didn’t mean to be a smartass it just seemed like either I was misunderstanding you or you were misunderstanding something. Proton has been around ever since the Steam Machine was released eight years ago.
In that case I don’t think I understand your point. It sounds as if you couldn’t play the same games as other people until the Steam Deck arrived? But in fact Steam has worked great on Linux for much longer than that.
I hope you know everything that runs on the SteamDeck also runs in Steam on a Linux PC.
