Right now, I’m playing the early access version of Baldurs Gate 3. I’m getting ready to put it down (frustrated: BG3 has the potential to be good, but without controller support, I’m getting really frustrated with the UI. ) and switch to Yakuza Like a Dragon.

What are you playing now and what are you looking forward to playing next?

Not only do I know that but my whole point depends on the reader also knowing that.

In that case I don’t think I understand your point. It sounds as if you couldn’t play the same games as other people until the Steam Deck arrived? But in fact Steam has worked great on Linux for much longer than that.

Before Proton, there were no games on Linux that you might overhear people talking about at a bus stop. Maybe two or three. But since Steam Deck, I can play the same games as everyone else on my Linux machine, which is a strange and novel experience for me. That’s all. Didn’t mean it to be a brain teaser.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to be a smartass it just seemed like either I was misunderstanding you or you were misunderstanding something. Proton has been around ever since the Steam Machine was released eight years ago.
