Don’t forget about Microsoft OpenGL.

Just look at all the people who claim to hate Musk and everything he stands for, but continue using Twitter like nothing changed.
If it helps, Obra Dinn is relatively quick. I think it took me around 10h. I find game length to be a big decision maker for me these days.
Ooo SOMA is a good answer. That game had the perfect balance of scare and story. Made it easy to play with friends in the room.
Well I would answer Outer Wilds (in particular, with the DLC), but since you already said it, ummm…
Probably Hollow Knight. I remember just loving the exploration in that game, and the difficulty made everything feel well earned. I haven’t played Elden Ring yet, but it sounds like people had a similar reaction to that, but in 3D.
Ooo I hadn’t seen anything new from Sean Murray, guess I should look that up.
You should check out 20 Minutes Till Dawn. It’s a better looking version of vampire survivor.
I happened to start HK at the same time as a coworker. We would sync every few days about what we discovered recently. It wasn’t a spoiler, it felt like I was back in the 90s talking with friends about game secrets before the internet spoiled it all. The game is just as much about the exploration as it is the challenge. Highly recommend if you have any friends who are also thinking of playing it.
Interesting. I agree that the gameplay was meh, but the story and universe it takes place in really intrigued me. I was sucked in from the moment the checkpoint at the front of the building had a sign that said “no rubber ducks”. The dead letters dept had a lot of entertaining reading imo.
I just got done with Subnautica. Man, either I just had shit luck, or that game does NOT respect your time. It’s infuriating to me when I know exactly what I need to do to progress, but I’m blocked by not being able to find a single damn rock out in a giant ocean. I dug the story, but man I was glad to be done with it.
I’m curious what happens with Phantom Liberty. They’re saying they’ve overhauled the entire game and fixed all the issues…but does that mean only for people who buy Phantom Liberty?
Remember No Man’s Sky? They’re STILL releasing free updates to that game. It looks to be way more than what they initially promised at this point. Totally redeemed themselves imo.
Yep, I’d be glad to see valve have some competition on Linux, but in the meantime I’ve been greatly appreciating their contributions.
Would love to use it more, but no Linux support. I’ve tried using it through Lutris, but installing updates is more annoying than it needs to be.
Anyone know if there’s a good lemmy community for tracking the creation of new communities? In particular, ones that existed on reddit and now exist here?
Yep, I think the best chance the fediverse has is for corporations to get on it and find ways to monetize it. I personally won’t be joining any servers that aren’t well behaved with my data and feed, but they are free to create such servers.
The only world where the fediverse is successful is one where corporations are on it too.
Ah ok thanks! I’ll try it out 👍
Anyone with owncast experience want to chime in? I don’t stream on twitch, I barely log into twitch, but I occasionally tune into certain streams. How easy is that through owncast?
It’s not quite clear to me how hosting works. If I want to set up whatever the analog to a “discord server” is for me and my friends, do I need to host it myself? Or can I join an existing instance and then create “servers” on there? Or since it’s using matrix, do I join a matrix instance and this is just a front end for matrix that works like discord?
I feel like the support page on their site is pretty sparse at the moment.
So you’re working around having to change instances by changing instances? Am I missing something?
