Meta just announced that they are trying to integrate Threads with ActivityPub (Mastodon, Lemmy, etc.). We need to defederate them if we want to avoid them pushing their crap into fediverse.

Dont get me wrong! I‘m not against a possible federation but we need ground rules first. No pushing ads, no changing of the protocol, no commercial usage of federated data, etc.

An example: If there are people who are in favour of abortion and people who want to outlaw abortion, a moderate position must necessarily not support full abortion rights and therefore is immoral. I think that we actually need more (good) extremism, because in many cases, a compromise is simply unacceptable.
